Just put a new XLIM top-fill pod in and the first few draws taste a bit like cotton wool / slight papery flavour. Is this normal for a new pod and how many draws does it take to clear?
Completely normal – that's the taste of the cotton wick before it's fully saturated with your liquid. It clears within about 5-10 draws for most people, sometimes faster if you've primed the pod well before your first use.
To minimise it: after filling, leave the pod to sit for 5-10 minutes before drawing. The cotton absorbs more liquid and the papery taste is much less noticeable on the first few puffs.
Yeah it's gone within a few draws. I barely notice it anymore because I always leave new pods to soak. It's just cotton, completely harmless – just not particularly pleasant for the first minute or two.
Sorted, cheers. I did prime it but maybe not long enough. Tastes great now after about 8 draws. Will leave it longer next time.
