My VPrime makes a slight crackling/sizzling sound when I take a draw. Especially noticeable at the start of a draw. The vapour and flavour taste fine. Is this a fault or normal for mesh coils?

Completely normal. That crackling sound is the liquid hitting the hot mesh coil and vaporising. It's the same physical process as water hitting a hot pan – the "sizzle" is just liquid becoming vapour very quickly. You'll notice it more at the start of a draw when the coil is at full temperature.

If the crackling gets louder, more frequent, or is accompanied by liquid spitting into your mouth, that's flooding and worth investigating. But a light sizzle at the start of a draw is just the device working as intended.

All my sub-ohm mesh devices make that sound. It actually sounds satisfying once you know what it is and that it's normal! You'd notice if it stopped working properly.

Ha – actually does sound kind of satisfying now I know it's just the liquid vaporising. Thanks for putting my mind at rest.
