I'm starting my vaping journey after quitting cigarettes – I was on about 15 a day, roll-ups, so not heavy but definitely dependent. I've read about different nic strengths and I'm not sure whether to start at 10mg or 20mg. I really don't want to crave cigarettes.
For 15 cigarettes a day, 20mg nic salts is the safest starting point. Better to start higher and step down than to start too low and find vaping unsatisfying, which is one of the main reasons people go back to smoking.
After a month or two once you're comfortable and confident you've made the switch, you can consider dropping to 10mg if you want. Many people stay at 20mg and that's completely fine too.
Started at 20mg after 20+ a day and I'm so glad I did. Tried 10mg after 3 months and went back to 20mg because the cravings crept back. Everyone's different but the advice to start higher and come down is solid. Don't make it harder than it needs to be in the early stages.
Thank you both. Starting at 20mg it is. The point about not making it harder than necessary resonates – the switch itself is hard enough. Really appreciate the straightforward advice.
