Just got the NeXLIM and trying to work out the airflow setting. I'm on 20mg nic salts wanting a tighter MTL draw (similar to how I used to smoke). Lots of people mention it but I'm not sure if the number markings on the airflow dial mean anything specific.
The dial doesn't have fixed positions with specific meanings – it's a smooth adjustment between fully closed and fully open. For MTL with nic salts, start at about 30-40% open (closer to the closed end) and work from there. A tighter draw gives more intense flavour but less airflow. Open it gradually until you find the draw resistance that feels comfortable.
Coming from cigarettes, most people end up around 25-40% open for a familiar mouth-to-lung feel. DTL vapers tend to prefer 70%+ open. It's quite personal so worth experimenting over a few days.
I settled on about 35% open with 0.8 ohm pods and 20mg nic salts. Gives a really nice tight-ish draw. Started too open and it felt harsh; closing it down made all the difference for me.
Tried around 35% as suggested – much better than where I had it before. Feels closer to what I was used to. Good tip about working up from the closed end rather than down from fully open. Thanks both.
