Got a Pro 3 off Facebook marketplace for £12, seller says it's genuine and barely used. Packaging looks slightly off and print quality on the box doesn't feel quite right. Is there a way to verify it's real?

Good instinct to check — there are counterfeits on the secondhand market. The official method: use OXVA's authenticity scratch code on the box. Full guide here: How to Use the OXVA Authenticity Code. Scratch the silver panel on the side of the box and enter the 20-character code at OXVA's verification page. Physical signs of fakes: fuzzy logo printing, lightweight feel, no TPD sticker, and a washed-out display compared to genuine units.

Had this exact situation. The authenticity code check sorted it — mine came back genuine. Main red flags: fake boxes have the OXVA logo slightly too small, USB-C port often slightly off-centre, and the scroll wheel feels loose rather than clicky. For £12 I'd be very cautious.

Honestly just buy from Vapestore — they're the official UK retailer and there's zero risk of counterfeits. If you're spending money on pods anyway, the peace of mind of a new genuine unit from Vapestore is worth the small premium.
