I switched from Elf Bars to SlimStick last week and I'm finding the nicotine hit doesn't feel quite as strong even though both are 20mg. Is this normal when switching or should it be the same?

The difference you're feeling is likely down to the type of nicotine and device output rather than the mg strength itself. Most disposables use highly refined nicotine salts with specific additives that enhance the hit speed and intensity. The draw activation on disposables is also often calibrated to fire at quite low resistance with high airflow, producing a specific hit pattern.

SlimStick delivers 20mg nic salts but the formulation and draw profile is different. Give it a week – your body adjusts to the slightly different nicotine delivery pattern and it starts to feel normal. Many people find they don't miss the "hit" of disposables once they've adapted. If after two weeks it still feels very weak, the lychee ice or cola ice flavours tend to feel slightly stronger due to the coolant effect.

I found the same thing for about 10 days then it normalised completely. Stick with it – the adjustment period is real but short. Worth it for the cost saving!

Good to know it's a recognised thing. Will give it the two weeks before deciding. The cost saving is real enough that it's worth the adjustment. Cheers both.
