Are NeXLIM and XLIM pods the same? Can I use one in the other?

I have an XLIM and someone told me the NeXLIM is better value because the pods are cheaper. But when I looked online they are different pods. Are they actually not cross-compatible or is it just different part numbers for the same thing?

They are completely different systems and not cross-compatible at all. The XLIM uses a straightforward single-coil system and the pods are simple and affordable. The NeXLIM uses the UniTech dual-mesh system - two mesh coils instead of one - which is why the pod chassis is completely different. You cannot fit an XLIM pod into a NeXLIM because the connector and internal structure do not match, and trying to force one is a waste of a good pod. Where the confusion comes from is that the pod price is similar, but the NeXLIM pod lasts longer because the dual-mesh runs more efficiently - you get more value from fewer pods even if the per-pod cost looks similar. The design difference is deliberate: XLIM pods are the affordable workhorse, NeXLIM pods are the premium option with extended lifespan. If you have got an XLIM and it is doing the job, there is zero reason to switch to NeXLIM just for pods - stick with what you have. If you are shopping for a new device, the choice between them is about whether you want the simpler, cheaper XLIM approach or the more sophisticated, longer-lasting NeXLIM experience. Our pod compatibility guide has the full breakdown of which pods fit which devices and why.

I tried to force an XLIM pod onto a NeXLIM once out of curiosity and it just would not seat properly. Immediately understood they were genuinely incompatible once I felt the connector difference.

Right, so they are genuinely different on purpose and not some weird compatibility thing. Good to know I am not missing out by sticking with XLIM pods then.
