The two things that matter most are both things not to do: do not keep firing it, and do not put it on charge. Passing current through a board that still has moisture on it is what actually kills these devices, far more often than the water itself. So, in order - take the pod out, tip the water out of the pod bay and the USB-C port, and give it a few firm shakes with the port facing down. Dry the gold contacts and the port carefully with a cotton bud or the corner of a dry tissue. Then leave it upright, somewhere warm and airy, for a full 24 to 48 hours before you do anything else with it, and be patient even though it appears to be working. Rice is not worth bothering with - it does very little for moisture that air will not do and it leaves starch and dust in the charging port. Equally, do not put it on a radiator or near a hairdryer, because heat and lithium cells are a poor combination. The pod is a different matter: a pod that has been submerged has usually taken water into the cotton and is best replaced rather than dried out. Once it is genuinely dry, charge it and test. Worth being straight with you though - liquid ingress is generally excluded from warranty, so this one is on hope rather than a claim. Mine went in a puddle and survived purely because I resisted charging it overnight. Left it on the windowsill for two days and it has been fine for months since. The temptation to plug it in and check is the thing to fight.

Learned this the expensive way with a previous device. Plugged it in an hour after a spill to see if it was okay and that was the end of it. Two days of doing nothing is genuinely the whole trick.
