When does an XLIM pod need replacing vs just refilling?

Really basic question but I genuinely can't figure out the difference. Sometimes I vape and it tastes burnt, sometimes it's just a bit weak. Is it always the pod that's the problem when it tastes bad, or could it be the liquid or something else? How do I know when to replace vs just refill?

The 5-click is the on/off toggle. Five rapid clicks of the power button turns the device on or off. This is the lock function — always lock it before putting it in your pocket or bag to prevent accidental firing. Most OXVA devices also show the battery level with the LED when you do this.
