My XLIM Pro 3 is my main device but I've found myself caught out a couple of times with a dead battery. I want a cheap backup to keep charged and ready. Should I get another XLIM Pro 3 or a cheaper model? Does it need to be from the same pod family?
For a backup the XLIM Go 2 at under £10 is the logical choice. Here's why it's ideal:
• Same XLIM top-fill pod family as your Pro 3 – no new pods to buy, no compatibility headaches
• Cheap enough that you won't mind leaving it charged and sitting in a drawer
• Simple and reliable
• If you break or lose it, easy to replace
The only time getting another Pro 3 makes sense for backup is if you're regularly using the backup heavily and want identical features. For genuine emergency backup use, the Go 2 is perfect.
Got a Go 2 as my Pro 3 backup. Works brilliantly. The shared pod family is the key selling point – keeping one set of pods works for both devices. Simple and sensible.
Ordered the XLIM Go 2. £9 for a proper backup using the same pods I already have is a no-brainer honestly. Thanks both – feels like a nice little system now.
