OXVA VPrime Review UK (2026): 60W Auto-Draw DTL Pod Kit

Quick verdict

The VPrime is OXVA’s most capable pod kit. At 60W with a 2600mAh battery and the first auto-draw DTL system in the OXVA range, it’s aimed directly at vapers who have outgrown the XLIM but don’t want a full box mod. It converts better than any other OXVA kit — and once you understand the pod options, the running costs are reasonable.

What is the OXVA VPrime?

The VPrime is OXVA’s flagship pod kit, sitting above the XLIM Pro 3 in power output and battery capacity. It launched alongside OXVA’s Unitech 2.0 coil technology and introduced the brand’s first auto-draw DTL (direct-to-lung) system — meaning you can take a lung hit without pressing any button, which is unusual for a pod kit at this wattage.

If you’re already familiar with the XLIM Pro 3, the VPrime is the logical next step when you want more power, a bigger battery, or a more open airflow draw. It is not a beginner device — the 60W ceiling and 0.2Ω pod option make it best suited to vapers who already know what wattage and coil resistance they prefer.

What makes the VPrime different from the XLIM Pro 3?

The two devices have almost no overlap in audience. The XLIM Pro 3 is a 30W, 1500mAh device built around the Pulse System for consistent flavour at a moderate output — it’s the best all-rounder for most vapers. The VPrime is for the vaper who already knows they want more.

The practical differences that matter day-to-day:

  • Battery: VPrime’s 2600mAh battery is 73% larger than the XLIM Pro 3’s 1500mAh. On typical 20–30W usage that’s roughly twice the screen time between charges.
  • Airflow: The VPrime’s AFC gives a genuinely open DTL draw. The XLIM Pro 3’s airflow is designed around MTL and restricted RDL — it cannot achieve the same openness.
  • Auto-draw: The VPrime fires on inhale without pressing the button (0.01s response). The XLIM Pro 3 also has auto-draw, but the VPrime is the first OXVA kit with auto-draw specifically tuned for DTL — it responds to the longer, faster inhale pattern of DTL vaping.
  • Weight and size: The VPrime is 116g and noticeably wider. The XLIM Pro 3 is 77.4g and genuinely pocketable. The VPrime is better suited to desk/home use or a jacket pocket rather than tight jeans.

If you’re unsure which to choose, the best OXVA vape guide walks through this by use case. The short version: if you vape mostly at home, want big clouds, or go through a pod a day on the XLIM, the VPrime is worth the upgrade.

VPrime pods and coils explained

The VPrime uses its own pod system, separate from XLIM pods. The kit includes two pods with different coil resistances:

  • 0.2Ω pod — high power, large vapour production. Recommended wattage 30–50W. Best for cloud chasers and direct-to-lung vapers who use 3mg or 6mg freebase e-liquid.
  • 0.6Ω pod — moderate power, balanced flavour and vapour. Recommended wattage 15–25W. Good for vapers transitioning from MTL who want more output than the XLIM delivers.

Two additional resistance options are available separately: 0.4Ω (25–40W, balanced DTL) and 0.8Ω (10–20W, RDL/restricted DTL). The 0.8Ω is the most forgiving in terms of e-liquid compatibility — it works well with both 50/50 and 70/30 VG/PG blends.

See the full OXVA pod compatibility guide for a breakdown of which pods work with which devices.

VPrime pods typically last 300–600 puffs at 25–35W. Signs to replace: burnt taste, visible yellowing in the pod window, or noticeably weaker vapour that doesn’t improve when you increase wattage.

Unitech 2.0 — what it actually means

OXVA’s Unitech 2.0 is their coil platform across the VPrime. The key difference from the original Unitech system (used in earlier XLIM generations) is the mesh coil geometry — a denser, more evenly distributed mesh that OXVA claims delivers more consistent flavour delivery across the full life of the pod.

In practice, what Unitech 2.0 means for the VPrime user: you get better flavour consistency from the first puff to the last puff of a pod, rather than the flavour peak typically happening at 30–50% fill level on standard mesh pods.

The 3D colour screen

The VPrime’s 0.96″ screen cycles through three animated themes: Space Boy, Rocket Launch, and Cosmic Journey. These are decorative rather than functional, but the wattage, battery level, and resistance readouts are clear at a glance. The screen dims after 10 seconds of inactivity to preserve battery.

It’s a more premium feel than the XLIM Pro 3’s 1.05″ HD screen (which, despite being technically larger, is more utilitarian in its display style).

Is the VPrime good value in the UK?

At Vapestore, the VPrime sits at a higher price point than the XLIM Pro 3 but remains competitive against comparable DTL pod kits from other brands. Given the 2600mAh battery and 60W ceiling, the spec-per-pound ratio is strong.

Pod running costs: at typical usage (2–3 pods per week at 20–30W on 0.6Ω pods), the VPrime costs less per month to run than using high-resistance MTL devices that chew through pods faster due to inefficient coil saturation.

Who should buy the VPrime?

The VPrime is the right choice if you:

  • Currently use 3mg or 6mg freebase nic and want a device that can handle sub-ohm output in a compact form factor
  • Find the XLIM Pro 3 underpowered for your vaping style
  • Want DTL auto-draw without carrying a full box mod
  • Vape heavily and need a battery that lasts a full day at 20–30W
  • Have tried the XLIM Go or XLIM Pro and know you prefer a more open draw

The VPrime is probably not right for you if you use 20mg nic salts, prefer a tight MTL draw, or want the smallest possible device. For those use cases, the XLIM Pro 3 or NeXLIM are better fits.
