Why is my OXVA XLIM not turning on?

The OXVA XLIM Pro 3, XLIM Pro 2 and XLIM 3 Ultra all use a 5-click power toggle. If your XLIM is not turning on, the most common causes are a dead battery, accidental lock, or a charging fault - all of which can be fixed in under a minute without any tools.

Fix 1: Unlock your OXVA XLIM (most common cause)

The most common reason an OXVA XLIM appears not to turn on is that it has been accidentally locked. The device shows no response but is working fine.

How to unlock: Press the fire button 5 times quickly in under 2 seconds. The screen should light up and show your wattage setting. If it does, the device was locked - not broken.

Fix 2: Charge the battery fully

If the XLIM has a fully depleted battery it will not respond at all - not even a flashing light. Connect to a USB-C charger and leave it for at least 15 minutes before trying again. A completely flat battery can take a few minutes before it shows any sign of charging.

If the device flashes a red LED when connected but the battery icon does not appear, try a different cable - faulty USB-C cables are a common culprit.

Fix 3: Check the USB-C port and cable

Plug the XLIM into a different USB-C cable and charger. The USB-C port on the XLIM can collect pocket lint - use a dry toothpick to gently clear the port and try again.

Fix 4: 5-click reset

With the device plugged in, press the fire button 5 times rapidly. This forces a power cycle. If the screen activates and shows the battery charging, the device is fine.

Fix 5: Clean the device contacts

Remove the pod. Check the gold contact pins at the base of the pod slot - if there is any liquid residue, dry it with a cotton bud. Reinsert the pod firmly and try again.

Fix 6: If none of these work

OXVA XLIM not turning on but charging

If the LED shows charging activity but the device will not power on, this is almost always a firmware lock or a completely depleted cell. Leave on charge for 20 minutes, then try the 5-click reset while still connected. In most cases this resolves it.

OXVA XLIM 5 flashes and off

Five rapid flashes on the LED indicate the device has detected a short circuit - usually a flooded or damaged pod. Remove the pod, dry the connection area and insert a fresh pod. If the 5-flash pattern continues with multiple pods, the device connection pins may need cleaning or the device has a fault.

OXVA XLIM 3 flashes and off

Three flashes means the battery is critically low. Connect to charge immediately. The device will not fire below a certain voltage threshold as a safety measure.

If you have resolved the issue, check whether your current pod is due for replacement. A pod that has been in use for 7-10+ days can cause weak flavour, gurgling or auto-draw problems that look like device faults.
