The pod does not taste burnt, just really muted. Is that a pod issue or liquid?
Muted flavour can be a tired pod, heavy sweetener build-up, airflow too open, or simply getting used to one flavour. Try a fresh pod with the same liquid first. If the fresh pod tastes better, the old one was at the end of its useful life.
