Would XLIM Go Lite be enough for a simple refillable setup, or is Go 2 worth paying more for?

If they do not care about settings, simple is probably better. Replacement pods matter more.

XLIM Go Lite is the easier route if the buyer wants a simple refillable pod with low fuss. XLIM Go 2 may make sense if they want the feel/features of that model, but for many beginners the pod ecosystem and easy replacements matter more than extra controls.

See: XLIM Go Lite guide.
