I have a 70VG shortfill at home. Can I use it in an XLIM pod or will it burn the coil?

I would be careful. XLIM seems happier with 50/50 or nic salts.

Most XLIM users should start with 50/50 liquid or nic salts. A 70VG liquid can wick more slowly in compact pod systems, especially with higher-resistance pods or frequent puffing. If you do use thicker liquid, use a suitable lower-resistance pod where compatible, keep power sensible and stop if the pod tastes dry.
