Exactly, those are usually the main reasons. Running the coil too hot, not letting it fully soak before use, or using very sweet liquidscan all shorten its lifespan. Dropping the wattage a bit and giving the coil more time to saturate often makes a noticeable difference.

Along with priming properly and avoiding chain vaping, wattage can make a big difference too. Running coils higher than their recommended range or using very sweet/dark e-liquids can shorten coil life quite a lot. Letting the wick fully saturate and taking a few gentle puffs at lower power at the start usually helps them last longer.
